Dequinox 2018 , the cultural festival of JUET Guna is widely renowned as the largest fest in central India. With a participation roster exceeding over 1 hundred colleges across the academic demographic of India, Dequinox is a glorious rendition of the ideals of innovation, conception and determination to achieve high heights of success, and is a phenomenal platform to nurture and inspire talent, while uniting a wide and diverse participation pool under a single banner.

The 2018 Programme for Dequinox is poised to exceed all expectations in keeping with its strong heritage and excelling in it's core strength as a talent platform to drive excellence.

Events

Our colossal cultural festival “Dequinox “ have done it’s part setting the ardent audience in the carnival with our celebrity of 2016 “Mohit Chauhan” . Set its sails and anchors in Westeros with the Kings “Sachin and Jigar”. With the same enthusiasm rambling around, Dequinox is soon set to disembark to a new exciting land this Dequinox 2k18. Pronites being the soul of our Fest, a soul vibrant and contagious, surprising the audience each time it sets the stage.

Fashion is an individual statement of expression for each of us and VERVE is the avenue to express yourself. It is the chance to set yourself apart in front of an enthusiastic audience.
Cultural

Panache
The hunt for Mr. and Mrs. Dequinox. Participants go through several rounds of filtering such as written extrempore, personal interview, and may more. We test and judge participants on the overall personality and persona.
Music

Raga
Where words fail , music speaks . Captivating vocals , mellifluous keyboard , breathtaking guitars , and spell-binding drums all put together to a gob smacked evening.

⬤ Time limit- Prelims: 15 mins (inclusive of sound check)

⬤ Finals: 25 mins (inclusive of sound check)

⬤ At least 1 vocalist and at least 3 different instruments required (different guitars counted individually), and 1 percussion instrument compulsory.

⬤ Bands can perform any song(s) of their choice, cover or an original composition.

⬤ Top 3 Bands selected for the finals would qualify for the finals.

⬤ Judging Criteria: Quality of vocals, Quality of instrumental music, Tightness, Synchronization, Choice of song, Overall performance as a band.

⬤ Purely classical numbers are not allowed. However, a classical refrain is allowed.

⬤ Obscenity (at the discretion of the judges) of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.

⬤ Time Limit should be strictly followed. Participants will be penalized by judges for not doing so.

⬤ No person may perform in more than 2 bands.

⬤ The decision of the organizers with respect to line-up would be final.

⬤ The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Dropping Notes
A platform for the euphonic voices, comprising Solo Singing and Duet Singing.

Solo
Time Limit: 4mins

⬤ Pure Classical tracks are not allowed.

⬤ Lyrics can be either in Hindi or in English (or a combination of the two).

⬤ Rap of any kind is not allowed.

⬤ The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.

Duet
Time Limit: 4mins
